How we research and verify clinic information

Last updated 7 November 2026

Every clinic profile on this site says where its details come from, how they were checked and when. This page explains the method behind that, so you can judge for yourself how much weight to give each detail.

Which clinics we list

We list dental clinics and hospital dental departments in Hanoi that are relevant for foreign patients. In practice that means at least one of these:

  • the clinic says it serves patients in English (English website, English-speaking dentists or staff);
  • the clinic or hospital is used by international patients or offers insurance direct billing;
  • the clinic is an established practice or chain with a published address, opening hours and services.

We also list clinics we have no commercial relationship with; most listings are exactly that. Being listed is not a recommendation and not a statement about clinical quality. We cannot judge the quality of treatment from the outside, and we don't pretend to.

Clinics for which we only found third-party directory pages (no website, social media page or map listing of the clinic itself) are not published until we have confirmed them directly.

Which sources we use

  1. The clinic's own publications: its website, price list, official social media pages and its own map listing.
  2. Official sources, such as the licensing rules of the Ministry of Health and the Hanoi Department of Health.
  3. Our own contact with the clinic: phone calls, messages and visits. Once that has happened, the profile says so.

Every profile lists its sources at the bottom, with links, so you can check them yourself.

What the verification levels mean

  • Checked online: details taken from the clinic's own website, its official social media and its public map listing. We have not yet called or visited. Details at this level are what the clinic says about itself.
  • Confirmed by phone: key details (address, hours, languages, emergency options) confirmed with the clinic by phone or message.
  • Visited: someone from our team visited the clinic and confirmed the details on site, including how well staff communicate in English.

We only use the word "verified" or "confirmed" for something we checked ourselves. As of 6 November 2026 all listings are at the level "Checked online": no clinic has been called or visited yet. We plan to confirm details by phone and in person; each profile will show when that has happened.

Stated, confirmed or unknown

Each profile has a short table "What we know" with the questions foreigners ask most: English, weekend hours, emergencies, prices, the dentists and insurance. For each one it says:

  • Stated by the clinic: the clinic publishes this itself; we have not confirmed it.
  • Confirmed by us: we confirmed it by phone, message or visit, with the date.
  • Not published: we could not find it. That does not mean the answer is no. Ask the clinic.

Filters and badges only use what a clinic states or what we confirmed. A missing badge means "not stated", never "no".

How we describe English

  • English-speaking: the clinic itself says its dentists or staff speak English with patients.
  • English via interpreter: the hospital says interpreters or international patient staff help in English.
  • English website: the clinic has an English website but does not say its dentists speak English.

Each profile shows what this is based on. How well a dentist actually speaks English can only be confirmed by talking to them; we will add that once we have called or visited.

How we handle prices

We only use prices that clinics publish themselves, with a link to the source and the date we saw them. We use list prices, not temporary promotions. Ranges on this site show the lowest and highest published price we found for a treatment, converted to US dollars at the Vietcombank rate of the day we checked. Your actual price depends on your situation and the materials used; only a dentist can give a real quote after an examination. Price overview.

Reviews and ratings

We do not write or publish our own star ratings or "best dentist" rankings, and we never invent patient experiences. If we show a clinic's public rating elsewhere, we give the number of reviews, the date we saw it and a link to the source.

Keeping information up to date

We go through all listings periodically and change the "checked" date on a profile only when we actually checked it again. Clinics move, change hours and change prices; if you notice something out of date, please tell us.
